Abstract

Chaîne à maillons, en particulier pour ancres. La base de l'U de chaque extrémité de l'élément a une portion de sa surface interne en forme de partie de cylindre, les axes des surfaces cylindriques desdites portions étant disposés sensiblement transversalement à l'axe longitudinal du maillon, et lesdites surfaces étant l'une convexe et l'autre concave de sorte que la surface convexe partiellement cylindrique d'une des extrémités d'un des maillons épouse une surface concave partiellement cylindrique à l'autre extrémité du maillon précédent lorsque la chaîne est rectiligne et sous tension, ce qui permet à la chaîne de supporter des charges plus fortes. La chaîne peut être utilisée pour l'amarrage des navires, des plates-formes de forages, des péniches et d'autres vaisseaux.
