Abstract

Procédé de décomposition du chlorure d'aluminium hexa-hydraté et de calcination de l'alumine, qui se caractérise par le fait que la majeure partie du chlorure d'aluminium hexa-hydraté est décomposée par chauffage indirect dans un réacteur à lit fluidisé, que le produit résultant de la décomposition est calciné dans un réacteur à lit fluidisé expansé, puis que les fractions solide et gazeuse provenant de la calcination sont séparées dans un réacteur à temps de séjour, qu'une partie des matières solides du réacteur à temps de séjour est renvoyée dans le réacteur de calcination pour y établir une concentration déterminée de la suspension constituée par le gaz et le solide, tandis que l'autre partie des matières solides est envoyée dans un refroidisseur.
