Abstract

On décrit des compositions de résines allégées et leur préparation. Ces compositions résultent de la cuisson de compositions comprenant des sphères creuses inorganiques ou organiques et un mélange constitué : a. d'un polybutadiène de faible masse moléculaire et contenant plus de 50 % d'unités 1,2; b. d'un compose générateur de radicaux libres se décomposant au-dessus de 100 degrés C; c. d'un polybutadiène liquide à terminaisons hydroxyles, carboxyles ou aminés; d. d'un composé multifonctionnel d'allongement de chaîne, et éventuellement e. d'un monomère hydrocarboné insaturé. Le polybutadiène a. contient de préférence 60 à 80 % d'unités 1,2 et sa masse moléculaire moyenne en nombre est de préférence comprise entre 1 000 et 40 000. Les compositions de résines allégées de l'invention présentent une faible densité, une bonne résistance à la compression et une faible absorption d'eau, ce qui les rend appropriées pour la fabrication d'objets devant résister à la compression en immersion hydrostatique et, plus particulièrement, de flotteurs utilisables par grandes profondeurs.Lightweight resin compositions and their preparation are described. Polybutadiene a. preferably contains 60 to 80% of 1,2 units and its number average molecular weight is preferably between 1,000 and 40,000. The lightweight resin compositions of the invention exhibit low density and good resistance to water. compression and low water absorption, which makes them suitable for the manufacture of articles having to resist compression in hydrostatic immersion and, more particularly, of floats usable at great depths.
