Abstract

Système optique à fibres constitué de fibres optiquement couplées entre elles et formées d'un noyau fortement réfringent et d'une enveloppe de faible indice de réfraction. L'épaisseur de l'enveloppe est tellement réduite que la réflexion totale n'est pas ideale et qu'à chaque réflexion de la lumière, une partie traverse l'enveloppe et pénètre dans la fibre voisine ou dans un milieu optique voisin. Application : notamment aux systèmes optiques à fibres pour transmission d'images ou de lumière.
