Abstract
Openings are etched in a moving metal. sheet made of magnetically permeable material. The sheet is imersed in an etchant, and a magnetic sensor near the sheet measures the magnetic field penetrating the holes formed in the sheet. The magnetic field measurement is used to control the etching. Etching is pref. controlled by varying the etching time, or altering the concn. of the etchant flowing over the sheet.
