Abstract

On introduit des polymères pulvérulents de l'éthylène ou des copolymères pulvérulents de l'éthylène et d' alpha -oléfines en C3 -C10 dans un moule fermé sans serrage par un poinçon, on fait passer à l'état élastique par chauffage en atmosphère de gaz inerte à une température de 150 à 250 degrés C, on comprime immédiatement dans le moule sous une pression de 2,5 à 25 N/mm**2 pendant au moins 2 mn, puis sous des pressions de 40 à 100 N/mm**2 pendant au moins 1 mn et laisse refroidir dans le moule sans pression. Le procédé selon l'invention permet d'obtenir directement, sans travail ultérieur par enlèvement de copeaux, des objets moulés à partir de polyoléfines à très haut poids moléculaire.
