Abstract

The broom etc. has a plastics cap (3) which is attached to a holder (2) and has a mould cavity (1) which is open to the outside. A number of U-shaped fibre tufts (5) of synthetic or natural fibre are placed transversely in the cavity where they are pressed against the walls by means of a square block (7) so that their arms project outwards of the cavity. This block has the same dimensions as the cavity so that when inserted to press down the centre of the fibres it provides a firm fit and secures the fibres in place. For increased security connecting members such as nails (8) can be passed through the holder, cap and into the block. Further fibre groups can be placed at right angles to the main group to form fibre tufts at the end edges.
