Abstract
Cement mixt. contains by wt. (1) 10-30% alkaline earth mineral chosen from steel making slags contg. calcium-monoaluminate (CA) or -dialuminate (CA2) or -silicoaluminate (CSA); aluminous cements contg. CA and CA2; CSA cements; silicates of Ca or Ba; or alkaline earth oxides, all roasted at high temp., obtd. from MgO, dolomite, CaO, BaO. (2) 14-54% material with size 100 angstroms to 0.1 um, e.g. SiO2, Cr2O3, TiO2, ZrO2, Al2O3; and (3) 14-54% inert material with size 1-100 mu m, esp. 1-10 mu m, where (2) plus (3) = 70-90%. Material (1) is pref. the slag, aluminous cement, or MgO, whereas material (2) is pref. SiO2 or Cr2O3; or 25-30% slag or cement is used with 35-40% SiO2 and 35-40% (3). The cement is pref. used to make concrete contg. 10-30% cement and 70-90% aggregates, roasted at 800-1000 degrees C for complete dehydration and to obtain open porosity below 15%, esp. below 10%.
