Abstract

Le procédé selon l'invention se distingue en ce qu'il comprend les opérations ci-après : on place un cordon réfractaire sur ce substrat d'acier, on dépose sur ledit substrat, à l'intérieur dudit cordon, un mélange pour réduction aluminothermique constitué essentiellement par, en poids, 50 à 65 % CuO, 1,8 à 2,4 % d'aluminium, 10 à 13 % un alliage calcium-silicium et 20 à 38 % d'un métal choisi parmi le cuivre, le métal qu'on désire allier au cuivre et leurs mélanges; ledit alliage de calcium-silicium étant constitué essentiellement par un mélange, en poids, de 30 à 33 % de calcium, 60 à 63 % de silicium, le reste étant des impuretés normales; on enflamme le mélange pour former une phase métal fondu et une phase laitier fondu, on laisse les phases fondues se solidifier et se refroidir et on retire le cordon réfractaire et la phase << laitier >> pour mettre à nu un revêtement métallique adhérant fortement au substrat d'acier. Ce procédé est destiné en particulier à former des dépôts de cuivre ou d'un alliage de cuivre sur des articles en acier.
