Abstract

Solar energy collecting system includes >=1 focussing lens with a liq. medium or >=1 Fresnel lens which focusses the sun's rays along a continuous line or along a line of discrete focal points in the path of an energy collecting ducting arrangement contg. different liquids adjacent to each other. Pref. >=2 collecting ducts are used, one being within the other. The enclosed duct contains a liq. which has a b.pt. >=50 degrees C higher than that of the liq. in the other duct. The two liquids pref. have respective b.pt. of 150-350 degrees C. and -60-100 degrees C. Typically the two liquids can be oil and water, and the liquid content of the lens system can be a soln. of NaCl. The system can convert the collected energy into either heat or electrical form.
