Abstract

The panel relies on solar light for its source of energy and consists of a convex surface, which is principally smooth on the outside. The rear side of the lens is fitted with a number of linear prisms which are angled to focus the light onto a point. The sun rays are directed towards a heat absorbent element. The element carries the heat exchange fluid which can be pumped around a conventional circuit. The entire element is located to face south at an angle to the vertical to absorb the sunlight for the longest possible time. The prismatic angles are related by a number of trigonometric expressions.
