Abstract

Polymérisation à l'état fondu de l' epsilon -caprolactame en présence d'eau et d'une amine. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à faire une polymérisation à l'état fondu de l' epsilon -caprolactame en présence d'eau et d'une amine bouillant à une température d'au moins 245 degrés C à une pression supérieure à la pression atmosphérique jusqu'à ce qu'une proportion majeure de la polymérisation se soit produite, après quoi le système est détendu et la polymérisation est poursuivie jusqu'à ce que la teneur en matières extractibles au méthanol soit réduite à moins de 5 % en poids. Le produit résultant a une stabilité à la chaleur améliorée et il est facilement utilisé pour fabriquer des fibres et des films.
