Abstract

The toy printing machine provides inkless copies, the design being traced by laying it on paper on a smooth board. Sheets of different coloured carbon paper are used between paper and board to give a multi-coloured reversed impression. This is wrapped round the upper roller (2), the lower (22) applying spring pressure (17). The rollers provide an initial gap for a sheet of plain paper (39) pushed between. As the rollers turn, the paper progresses through (10). The design is imparted by pressure (15, 16) from the entry platen (9) pressing the paper against (12) a pad (21) containing methylated spirits (23), the dampened paper picking up the carbon impression.
