Elle se caractérise en ce qu'elle consiste à croiser une plante allopolyploïde composée d'une plante interspécifique ou formée par croisement réciproque de Brassica oleracea et d'une autre espèce du genre Brassica, en tant que femelle, avec différentes espèces du genre Brassica en tant que mâle présentant une compatibilité de croisement avec ladite femelle. c. Les nouvelles variétés obtenues sont utilisables en culture maraîchère.
