Abstract
The positive or negative acceleration sensor comprises an envelope in which are placed an inertial mass and one or more transducers which generate an electrical signal in response to movement of the mass w.r.t. the envelope, caused by acceleration. The transducer (10; 10a, 10b) comprises a complex of two electrodes (11, 13) between which a film (12) of deformable material is placed. This arrangement can generate an electrical signal in response to pressure exerted on the film. The transducer is clamped between part of the inertial mass (21) and part of the wall (6) of the envelope (1, 2). The film (12) may comprises a plastic layer filled with conductivity particles while the electrodes (11, 13) may be formed by metallising the opposite faces of this pressure-sensitive layer (12).
