Abstract

The tool carrier is for a rotary cultivator with pairs of tools which rotate about vertical axes. It has a central aperture which receives a drive shaft, and two end apertures which receive the tool stems. Each end aperture is polygonal, its front and rear faces being shaped to absorb the forces on the tool during use. These faces converge towards the longitudinal centre of each aperture, the central zone of these faces being parallel. The corners of the apertures surfaces at the ends may be rounded.
