Abstract

L'invention concerne un four à cuve métallurgique. Le four comporte une partie supérieure u de préchauffage et une partie inférieure l de fusion. La partie supérieure est composée d'éléments concentriques de diamètre croissant, de l'élément supérieur de chargement 3 jusqu'à l'élément inférieur 6 raccordé à la partie inférieure l. Des gouttières 11, 15a, 15b, 15c alimentées en eau sont formées autour des jonctions des éléments et font saillie à l'intérieur du four pour former des anneaux de refroidissement qui empêchent le cheminement préférentiel des gaz chauds. L'invention est applicable notamment aux cubilots.
