Abstract
Procédé pour recueillir le magnésium à partir d'un mélange gazeux. Le mélange gazeux est refroidi rapidement par mise en contact avec un métal fondu, dans lequel le magnésium est absorbé en même temps. Le métal fondu est un alliage aluminium-magnésium. Des alliages aluminium-magnésium comprenant de 30 à 70 % en poids de magnésium sont particulierement utilisables. Tous les alliages de ces dernières compositions ont des températures de liquidus (points de fusion) à au moins 200 degrés C environ au-dessous des points de fusion de l'aluminium pur (660 degrés C) et du magnésium pur (649 degrés C), comme on le voit d'après le diagramme des phases des alliages aluminium-magnesium représenté sur la figure. Application aux mélanges gazeux chauds de magnésium et d'oxyde de carbone.
