Abstract

The light, small amphibious boat (1) is generally flat bottomed and short, relative to the beam, in order to increase stability. The ratio is roughly 2m long to 1.10m width. There are two base stiffeners (2) which are not parallel and are at a slight angle to another (2') along the centre line of the boat. The boat is handled by two oars (3) held in rowlocks which are of the usual detachable type. AT the stren is a substantial frame into which can be fitted an axle and two road wheels for land use. The tyres are low pressure type, adding to buoyancy. The oars can be used also as shafts for pulling the boat on land.
