Abstract

On mélange les polymères d'oléfines avec des agents gonflants libérant des gaz, on chauffe le mélange et on le fait passer dans des boudineuses qui le transforment en bondons sans fin qu'on découpe en particules cylindriques, on expose les particules à des radiations ionisantes et on les revêt ensuite par des additifs qui empêchent leur collage. On découpe les bondons sans fin à l'état encore chaud perpendiculairement à la direction d'extrusion de manière à former des particules gonflables cylindriques de 0,5 à 5 mm d'épaisseur ayant un rapport longueur/épaisseur de 1,00 à 2,00 qu on expose sur toutes leurs faces à des radiations ionisantes. Les particules de polyoléfines gonflables ainsi préparées conviennent à la fabrication de pièces moulées homogènes et résistantes.
