Abstract

The delayed action fuse plug is for pyrotechnic devices particularly explosive or smoke grenades. It has a sealed fuse sealed to a plug body which has a striker and a release lever, the latter removable after release of the striker. The plug body has guides causing the lever to rotate through a predetermined angle after release, typically two lateral ramps acting against the sides of the lever, and curving through roughly 120 deg.. There may be a protrusion on the end of the lever engaging in a transverse opening in the body. The protrusion opening and ramps are so shaped that the lever is freed from the opening and the ramps after rotating through more than 50 deg..
