Abstract
The sheet metal passes through the transformer core on the electrical windings. The metal is wound onto a mandril and fixed at the free end onto the winding support. the sheet is unrolled to form the magnetic circuit around the coil. The roll provides the same number of turns as it did on the mandril of greater diameter. Both winding operations are carried out at the same station. The mandril is able to be slipped out of the coil after the sheet has been wound on. The sheet metal is wound onto a mandril which is powered from a motor installed in the machine.
