Abstract

A thermally activated circuit breaker designed to protect high power transformers from overloading is mounted in a box (1) containing fluid of high dielectric capacity and good thermal conductivity. Externally communicating terminals (3) are connected to a pair of heat deflectable blades (5). A trip mechanism mounted on a pivot bar (10) and actuating a switch by means of non retracting lever (13) has a pair of adjusting screws connected to itself by means of which a failsafe system is obtained.
