Abstract
The circuit breaker consists of one single-phase unit (72) which may be linked to others to form a multi-phase unit. Each unit has a fixed contact (14) and a mobile contact (44) operated by a spring loaded shaft (30) with a square section (31) drive. Arc extinction is provided and gas escapes via a trap (52, 53) in the housing. Metal blades (9, 58) form a current shunt, which is adjustable by a screw (59), to drive a thermal and overload trip (89). Individual units are linked by a mechanical strip (77) to obtain coincident tripping. The breaker may be used without the overload trip and allows easy assembly of multiple units.
