Abstract

The joint enables a tubular structure to be constructed, the vertical uprights (1) being of round tube and the horizontal supports (2) of rectangular tube. Each horizontal support has a spring clip (6) in each end. This clip is an elongated U-shaped, its ends (4) turned outwards to fit into corresponding apertures (9) in the vertical tube. The legs of the clip are held open by a plastic wedge (10) inserted between them. The closed end of the clip is opposite a hole (11) in the rectangular tube. This hole accepts a locking wheel (12) which has lobes (12c) on it. When turned 90 deg., the lobes tighten the clip.
