Abstract

The element, which is initially punched out from steel sheet, consists of a square base (1) with serrated flanks (2) on two edges, which fix into the panel. On one edge between the flanks is another flank (4) which is rectangular with a curved top edge (5), and it is normally held flat against the base by the elasticity of the joint. The flank has a central embossment (8) made by a punch. On the other edge between the flanks is a tongue (6) provided with a groove (7) which fits over the embossment on the flank to hold it open. As a panel provided with these fixing elements is attached to the uprights of the frame, the tongue is knocked over the embossment and the flank grips a hooked edge on the upright.
