Abstract

The belt has several separate, coaxial bands separated by zones which allow a local running-surface deformation to occur when the lateral forces act upon the running surface. Some of the zones permitting local deformation of the running surface are less thick than adjacent ones. Such zones of reduced thickness are provided with a circumferential draining groove in the running surface. The belt has a further band which extends over the entire width of the running surface. This band surrounds the axially spaced bands. One or both of the outermost bands is (are) folded over along its (their) outer edge(s).
