Abstract

The lighting unit is for flush-mounting in a ceiling or false ceiling, having a body accommodating a socket and mounting claws. The body includes a thimble (2) bearing against the ceiling (12) and a stirrup (3) supporting the socket (15). Thimble, stirrup and claw mountings are a one-piece moulding. The mountings can comprise a spindle (7) and stops (11), integral with the body, holding a coil spring forming part of the claws (9). The stirrup can comprise s single eccentric stem, joined directly to the thimble at one end, and having at the other a support for the socket. There can be an earth connection, and the body can be injection-moulded under pressure, and of aluminium alloy.
