Abstract

A heavy duty conveyor which is chain driven, has the pins (4) which pass through the chain links (12) also passing through side plates (2) extending across the whole width of the conveyor. Both chains pass over drive sprockets (9). Flat plates (1) are mounted between the side plates, extending nearly the width of the conveyor. These plates are attached to the side plates (2) at an angle to the edges of those plates. They are also attached to the pins (4) by a loop (5) at each end. Thus, as the chains pass around a chain sprocket, the cross plates tilt at the same time as the side plates. For extra heavy loads, the cross plates can carry rollers which travel on a track underneath.
