Abstract

The accumulator is combined with an electric traction vehicle in a system which provide sufficient power for the vehicle's propulsion, and recuperates the kinetic energy (E) available during deceleration and braking by using a "speed holder." The max. amt. of energy (E) can be recovered, even, if the vehicle is travelling below 3 ms. Energy (E) can be recovered by feeding it directly to an accumulator, or to a generator of hydrogen and oxygen. The system includes switching semiconductor elements which connect the vehicle traction motor windings in parallel or in series; and the air gap is automatically adjusted during deceleration so that the rotor becomes a generator. The electric energy thus produced can be fed to two electrodes in a water cell for producing H2 and O2. Numerous types of cell are included in 82 claims. Use of the accumulators can be instantaneously recharged in min. time and used for driving vehicles on land, sea, and in the air, or for driving machine tools.
