Abstract

The end piece for a connector is used with optical lines. This comprises a hollow cylindrical connection sleeve (1) having an external lateral surface area and an internal surface area defining an internal volume, both surfaces being of revolution about the same axis, and two end walls one of which presents an external contact face (2) and the other (16) which is behind the first. A block (7) is formed with the same axis of revolution and placed inside the internal volumen and made from a material which exhibits the creep phenomenon. The block (7) and the end faces are fitted with axial apertures through which the line (R13) is to be connected may pass. The end piece has a system (6, 8, 11, 12) for varying the internal volume in order to ensure that this volume has a minimum valve equal to or less than the volume of the block of material.
