Abstract

A wire (4) gummed at three points (5, 6, 7) is located inside the top fold (2) of the envelope (1) connecting the gummed flap (3) with the rest of the envelope. One end of the wire (8) is rolled over and secured to the end of the flap which is provided with a perforated line. This corresponds to a perforated line (10) in the envelope. When the envelope is sealed the wire is completely covered thereby causing no risk of injury. To open the envelope the perforated corner is torn away, this piece serving as a handle to pull the wire through the folded edge, releasing the contents without damage.
