Abstract

Paper bag has a bottom end formed from overlapping flaps (3, 10) and a tear strip (1) on the inside of the outer bottom flap (3). The latter is glued down on to the inner flaps. The tear strip runs at least to the long edge (2) of the outer flap (3) and, from there, crosses over this flap and down the centre along the inner side wall of the bag extending to the other end of the bag. There may be short cuts extending from the edge (2) on either side of the tear strip so as to form a grip (6), and the adhesive coating on the inside of the flap may be interrupted in the region of the tear strip.
