Abstract

A layer of fresh concrete of uniform depth is laid on a horizontal bed of relatively large surface area. The layer is then dried if required, surface texturing applied and the concrete allowed to harden. The resultant sheet of concrete may be subdivided into tiles before the concrete sets. The concrete layer is of two definitive horizontal strata (16, 18) with the fibre-reinforcement concentrated in the area (18) adjacent to the non-textured face, and may be placed in two separate layers. Surface texturing may be effected by an overlain sheet which is peeled off and cleaned prior to the concrete setting.
