Abstract

849,129. Moulding building panels. BRITISH PLASTER BOARD (HOLDINGS) Ltd. June 18, 1959 [March 19, 1958], No. 8851 /58: Class 87(2). [Also in Group X] Corrugated bitumenised sheet 10, carrying metal strips 11, Fig. 1, is placed in the bottom of a mould 12, 13, Fig. 2, and wet plaster 15 is poured in to fill the corrugations and form a continuous upper surface, so producing a building unit with a waterproof face. In a modification, an intermediate member, Fig. 4, comprising corrugated asbestos-cement sheet 17 clad with metal strapping 18 faced with plaster 16 and with plaster edge fillings 19, is laid on the upper surface of a layer of plaster above a corrugated bitumenised sheet 10 in a mould and pressed down, so forming a hollow panel with a waterproof face. The opposite side may be given a waterproof face by first applying a butumenised sheet while making the intermediate member.
