Abstract
The appts. uses electromagnetic waves acting at a distance on the molecules held to sharpen cutting edges such as razor blades. The system uses a solid obtained by humidifying and mixing equal quantities of mineral and vegetable materials in a powdered form and then drying this mixture. Marble, talc, sugar, and rice are given as suitable examples. Stimulation of the mixture, which may enclose the edge to be sharpened, is effected by a ferrite rod with a metal rod e.g. of brass. The assembly is included in a plastic box, and is claimed to prevent irritation following the use of a razor sharpened in this manner.
