Abstract

Thiadiazolylureas of formula (I) are new: (where R is H, 2-4C alkyl, alkoxy or acyl; R' is H or alkyl; R2 is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, haloalkyl, haloalkyl-carbonyl, alkoxyalkyl or opt. substd. phenyl). A typical cpd. 1- 5-(2-chloro-1,1-dimethylethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl -3-methyl- urea was prepared in 68% yield by reaction of methyl isocyanate with 2-amino-5-(2-chloro-1,1-dimethylethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole in ethyl acetate at reflux temp.
