Abstract

The engine comprises a piston (2) and cylinder (1) and a combustion chamber (3) located above the piston, in the cylinder head. A fuel injector (4) is able to inject a diesel fuel or a petroleum fuel. A sparking mechanism (5) is included for the ignition of the petroleum fuel. A regulator controls the amount of each fuel injected according to the engine duty. The combustion chamber consists of a main chamber (3a) connecting with a pre-combustion chamber (3b). The primary fuel is injected and ignited after which the secondary fuel is injected allowing the products of combustion into the main combustion chamber.
