Abstract

A delay device for the detonation of a missile has a circular casing with a hollow spinkle down the middle, through which extends the striker pin (14) with a spring around it. The spindle is supported by a timing disc (3) with a spiral groove in its top face. The spindle is rotated by a clockwork mechanism. Above the disc is supported on arm (6) with its end (5) bent over to fit into the groove (4). Before rotation, the bent end is at the centre of the disc, and at the end, is released at the periphery, and is swung outwards by a spring (8). A cam face (11) releases on arm (12) near the centre to allow it to swing about a pivot (13) and then release the striker (14) which is forced up by its spring.
