Abstract

A measuring equipment is used for viewing and measuring the dimensions of an outline. The outline may be obtained by projection of an object or of a picture of the object. The equipment comprises a television camera (1), a scanning unit (2) and a viewing monitor (3). The units (1, 2, 3) are interconnected by cables (4, 5, 6, 7). The viewing monitor (3) displays three horizontal lines and three vertical lines. These lines are generated by the scanning unit (2). The lines and the contour of the projected object define six segments. The segments are compared with preset lengths to establish conformance with a standard. The scanning unit comprises a video signal circuit, a picture selector and a mixing circuit. Other circuits are used to complete its function.
