Abstract

The tool is fitted to a rotary cultivator and comprises a horizontal shaft, rotated by the motor, with sets of blades at intervals along its length. Each blade (1) is made from oil hardened steel in the form of a flat strip (2), one end (3) having a hole (3A) and a slot (3B) for bolting onto a hub (X1-X2). Several blades are fixed tangentially each side. The outer end (5) of each blade is bent in two planes; at an angle of 105 deg. to the flat surface and at 30 deg. (B) back from the leading edge. This edge (5A, 5B) is sharpened along its whole length leaving narrow land.
