Abstract

The pin is circular in cross section and made from stainless steel. Four straight semicircularl grooves (1b) are provided along its length and equally spaced around the circumference to form clearance flutes. One end of the pin has a cutting point (3) and the other end (2) of the pin is rounded and has an elongated slot (4) for attachment to a driving tool. Insertion is by rotating the pin to cut its own hole or by using a percussion tool to drive the pin home. Another elongated slot (5) at the point end may also be used for insertion.
