Abstract

The vehicle heater draws heat from a heat exchanger fed by the engine coolant circulation, when the vehicle is running normally. A fuel fired booster heater is connected into the heater circuit to provide heating when the engine is stopped, with the action of the booster controlled from inside the cab. The booster can also be used to prewarm the engine block for cold starting. The system provides heating in cabs in all conditions. It improves the comfort esp. when the cab is fitted with sleeping bunks. The system can be fitted with a semi-automatic control to boost the coolant temp. in cold climates.
