Abstract

The pair of skis has a permanent magnet at each end, enabling the skis to be handled and stored without the need for separate fastenings. Each magnet is fixed into the running surface of the ski (1), flush with it or behind the wear insert (12). The magnets are flat, thin and rectangular. Those fitted into one ski are both of one polarity; those in the other ski are of the opposite polarity. The attractive force between them, when placed together, holds the skis. As an alternative, the single magnet may be replaced by two (10, 11) at each end.
