Abstract

The tubes (1, 2) form part of the frame of a folding cot for babies. The end of each tube is deformed to produce flat areas (4, 5) and tubular sections (6) (7) with a diameter smaller than that of the original tube. The two tubes (1) (2) are joined together by a U-section member (3). The U-section member has extended flanges (3a, 3b) which are curved to match the tubular sections (6, 7). The parts (1, 2, 3) are assembled with loose rivets which pass through the holes (8, 9, 10, 11). The tubes (1, 2) are locked to form a straight line by a sleeve which slides over the joint. Sliding the sleeve to one side allows the frame to be folded so that the tubes (1, 2) lie parallel to each other, forming an 'H' with the cross-piece.
