Abstract

Dense hydration resistant dolomitic material comprises aggregates of particles of dolomite completely surrounded by an interstitial oxide binder phase consisting of CaO, MgO, and ore or more of Al2O3, SiO2, Cr2O3, TiO2 and manganese or iron oxides. The additive is esp. chosen from calcined talc, olivine corundum, bauxite, Cr2O3, CrO, and chrome steel. The dolomite is used as refractory bricks for linings for furnaces for combustion, calcination, sintering and/or fusion of cements, metallurgical prods. metallic ores or metals.
