Abstract

The tie rod tensioning device consists of a nut with a part spherical base which seats in a similar recess in a washer. The washer has a large diameter hole so that a rod can be passed through a support at an angle to receive the nut, the angle being as great as 20 deg.-30 deg. The nut is shaped so that a key can be used to turn it. The tie rod and tensioning device are for use in the erection of sheet piles.
