Abstract

Hydraulic binder, as described in the parent patent, consists of a granulated slag, and a setting catalyst consisting of 90-95% gypsum and 5-10 wT.% NaOH dispersed in the finely divided gypsum. In this addn., ground limestone sand is added as an activator, in an amt. of 10-20% for a mixt. contg. 20% slag granules with ordinary sand or gravel, and in an amt. of 15-25% for a mixt. contg. 15% slag. The limestone sand consists of granules of 0-2 to 0-5 mm. dia., 25-35% of which passes a 0.080 mm. sieve. With variation of the granulometry, the amts. used are different. Used in underwater construction, such as walls of quays, canals etc., retaining or supporting walls.
