Abstract

PURPOSE:To greatly reduce the amount of mud water to be discarded by eliminating the need for a reaction retarder by a method in which excavation is conducted by using a bentonite mud water containing slag and a setting initiator is added to the bentonite mud water for solidification. CONSTITUTION:An excavation is conducted by using a slag-containing bentonite mud water (7-9 in pH) which does not solidify as such. Then, a setting initiator, e.g., slaked lime, etc., is added to and mixed with the bentonite mud water so as to change its pH to an alkaline side (about 11 in pH). By this, the slag- containing bentonite mud water is converted into a curable type.
