Abstract

The compressor has a trilobed rotor (2) and supplies hot and cold air for vehicle air conditioning. The casing (1) has a single trochoidal chamber compressing and expanding the air. The rotor has sealing blades on each lobe, each side (5) having apertures (6) communicating with a common centre. These are covered with wire gauze (7), forming a heat exchanger. Air is drawn in, compressed and heated up, the heat passing into the gauze. The air expands, as the rotor turns, and is cooled, this air being exhausted (4) to the air conditioner. The remainder of the air is heated by contact with the gauze and is drawn off (14) separately.
